Dr Mohamed Gomaa

Judge

Dr Mohamed Gomaa is a lecturer and the major discipline coordinator for the Architectural Engineering program at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. Gomaa has established a strong international reputation in digital manufacturing and robotics in architecture, specialising in additive manufacturing technologies for earth materials. He also has expertise in computational design, building energy performance, and life cycle assessment. His research has been published in top international journals and conferences.


Gomaa's academic and research experience spans across Australia, the UK, and Egypt. Additionally, he is a registered professional architect in the MENA region with over 10 years of practice. Gomaa completed his postdoctoral research at RMIT’s Centre for Innovative Structures and Materials and holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide, a master’s degree from the Welsh School of Architecture in the UK, and a bachelor’s degree from Tanta University in Egypt.
